Associate Story: Danielle Cox, Quality System Associate III

Danielle Cox, PTTImagine coming from halfway around the world to work for a premier U.S. business while simultaneously adjusting to a new culture, work environment, and way of living. That is exactly how things transpired for Danielle Cox when she joined Pinnacle Transplant Technologies as its Quality System Associate III earlier this year.

For the previous six years, Danielle worked for various medical device companies in Singapore, finding a particular niche in product and regulatory compliance. She earned tremendous experience and knowledge in global regulatory requirements as well as other nuances within the field. It also made her a prime candidate for U.S.-based companies looking for skilled professionals when she decided to settle in Phoenix, Arizona in late 2015. And Pinnacle did not waste any time getting in touch with her.

“Pinnacle was one of the first companies to call me,” she said. “I remember when I saw the job post, I grabbed the opportunity to apply immediately, and within a few weeks I had the job.”

But it also meant a significant adjustment period too.

“It was a really fast pace for someone like me coming from halfway around the world. I had to adjust with the culture pretty real quick, including learning how to drive in just a month and then having to accommodate to a new work environment as well.”

It did not take long for Danielle to get comfortable in her new role, relying on her cumulative expertise to make an impact within the company. Now, as the Quality System Associate III, she helps promote continuous improvement in the quality system by making sure it is working, reviewing deviations, root cause analysis, and more. She was also recently tasked with helping enhance the product development system in order to meet regulatory requirements.

As she thrives in her position, Danielle also loves that she gets to work everyday for a tissue bank that is dedicated to making a positive difference for so many individuals.

“Life is a gift,” she said. “To be part of a team that is truly dedicated and has ethical participation in the Donate Life process bring a great impact to me as a person.”
