Pinnacle Transplant Technologies to Co-Sponsor the 2020 Donate Life Rose Parade Float

New Year’s Day display will be highlighting the power of organ, eye and tissue donation

PTT Rose Parade Float 2020
The Rose Parade® is one of the nation’s most prestigious events, and Pinnacle Transplant Technologies is excited to announce that it will be one of the sponsors of the Donate Life float during the 131st edition of the parade—which will take place on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, California.

Celebrating its 17th anniversary, the Donate Life float is part of a national initiative to help share the power of organ, eye and tissue donation with the millions of people who either visit Pasadena, or tune in to watch the Rose Parade® every year. This perfectly aligns with Pinnacle Transplant’s mission to improve lives through quality allograft products culled from generous human donation, and so it was appropriate for the regenerative medical company to support the endeavor.

The theme for this year’s parade is “The Power of Hope”; and the Donate Life float will embody that compelling message through its “Light in the Darkness” theme, which highlights the power of unity, light and love as celebrated during Southeast Asia’s Diwali, or the Festival of Lights. According to Donate Life representatives and affirmed by PTT involvement, the many lives touched by donation represent the hope inherent in this festival, making it a fitting way to spread this message to parade watchers around the world.

As created by award-winning float designer Charles Meier, the Donate Life float will feature colorful rangoli—intricate circular designs made of rice and flowers—to adorn the entrance of a home. These rangoli will house thousands of individually dedicated roses to honor those who have saved and healed lives through the power of organ, eye and tissue donation. Two brass oil lamps—known as diya—will be accompanied by three majestic peacocks, symbols of new life. Twenty-eight organ, eye and tissue recipients or living donors will be seated among the peacocks or walk alongside the float while 44 memorial floral portraits will honor the gift of life and light given by organ, eye and tissue donors.

The 2020 Donate Life float honoree for Pinnacle Transplant Technologies will be Tracey Warren-Hein. Tracey is a wife and mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017; after a double mastectomy, she received tissue from two donors which helped advance the healing process during the mastectomy reconstruction. As a result, Tracey learned of the precious gift given to her and knows it has aided in her ongoing recovery process. Read more of her story here.
