CFO Donald Laughlin Recognized as One of Arizona’s Top Financial Executives

Donald Laughlin-CFO-Awards

In a prestigious ceremony held in Scottsdale in early November, Pinnacle Transplant Technologies’ own chief financial officer, Donald Laughlin, was celebrated as an outstanding financial executive in Arizona. Laughlin was honored as a finalist for “CFO of the Year” for a medium-sized private company by the Arizona chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI).

“FEI-Arizona hosts the CFO of the Year Awards each year in order to shine the spotlight on those individuals in our business community who have demonstrated outstanding financial management,” Stephen McCaskill, Arizona chapter president, told AZ Business Magazine. “We believe this recognition benefits the greater Arizona business community by providing a forum that highlights the importance of financial leadership and promotes a better understanding of the role of finance in the world of business.”

Laughlin certainly represents these qualities and more in his role at Pinnacle—with a particular skill in balancing strategic profitability and growth with the day-to-day business activities of the regenerative medical company.

One of his hallmark accomplishments was reshaping the financial reporting framework that allows for better measurement of performance across all areas of the company, helps improve organizational decision making and business practices, and simultaneously enables the continued annual growth of 30 percent.

“The greatest reward for me is the opportunity to make change and foster growth on all organizational levels,” he said. “We have access to all the data for visibility into enterprise wide operational efficiency, creating the platform to impact all employees on every level. What a profound opportunity and dramatic challenge all at the same time.”

And ultimately, his work translates to more lives being improved by Pinnacle’s life-changing allograft products.
