Associate Story: Cathy Berg

Cathy-Berg

If her past job history is any indication, Cathy Berg has developed a clear passion and skill set in accounting, from her time in the automotive industry, owning her own custom cabinet shop for more than a decade to 15 years in the X-Ray equipment industry. Today, she makes an even bigger impact on the lives of thousands of people in her current role at Pinnacle Transplant Technologies.

As the company’s Accounts Payable Specialist, Cathy is responsible for receiving and reviewing all vendor invoices on a daily basis for accuracy as well as interacting with various departments in acquiring the necessary information and documentation for invoice processing. She also works with the company Controller and CFO in the selection of invoices for payment in a bi-weekly check run.

She especially derives professional satisfaction through researching and analyzing accounts; in fact, through a detailed vendor cost analysis, she was recently able to yield significant cost savings for Pinnacle. This attention to detail as well as her warm demeanor has not gone unnoticed from her colleagues, which ultimately led Cathy to be named Associate of the Month for November. Company leadership had this to say about her in recognition of the honor:

“Cathy is always a friendly and reliable resource in working with vendors through the payable process. She is reliable, consistent, pleasant to work with, and helpful to all who need. Cathy is outstanding in her consistency and dedication to her job.”

Although these and other accolades are wonderful, she never forgets the larger importance of the company mission.

“I’m very appreciative of the the acknowledgement, trust and respect I have received,” she said. “But the best gratification comes from knowing that we are making a difference in so many people’s lives.”

I met Cathy today regarding medical supplies. She picked up the phone the other day when I called regarding being a neighboring business that supplies medical products, and inquiring whether there may be some synergies. Based on her job description she went above and beyond her duties in meeting with me and exploring potential savings for Pinnacle. I look forward to learning more about Pinnacle Transplant and any opportunities that may exist.
